Grammar rules this week: tenses

Learn the following:

The present tense can show something that is done regularly e.g. I eat pizza every day. I go to school.

This is the simple present tense.

The present tense can also show something that is happening right now e.g. I am eating pizza right  now. I am going to school.

This is the continuous present tense.

The past tense can describe something that has been done e.g. I wrote a letter yesterday. I walked to school.

This is the simple past tense.

The past tense can also describe an event that was on-going e.g. I was writing a letter all last night. I was walking to school when my car was broken.

This is the continuous past tense.

The future tense can show something that will happen in the future. E.g. I will write a letter tomorrow.

This is the simple future tense.

The future tense can also describe a future event that is on-going e.g. I will be writing a letter tomorrow.

This is the continuous future tense.
